About the Event

She will  show images and have on display approximately 15 masks from her  collection. Ms. Hanson has been researching masks for over two decades. Her  collection, numbering in the hundreds, represents over 45 countries,  five continents and more than 100 years of history. For thousands of years, people have created masks as a means of expression, to enhance a costume, and to communicate their spiritual  feelings. More than just a disguise, a mask can transform a person  into a new powerful spirit. We hope you will join us in January to learn more about why masks are treasured worldwide for their  historical and cultural significance.
